Call for Proposals: CLASS Sessions at the 2017 ACTFL Annual Convention

Submission deadline: Friday, January 13, 2017

The 2017 ACTFL Annual Convention will be in Nashville, Tennessee, November 17-19. CLASS and ACTFL are Convention Partners and our Convention Committee is seeking sessions that help language educators be better able to develop their students’ critical-thinking, creativity, communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills. Share your brilliant idea that will give attendees that “wow” experience and send them back to their schools with many takeaways!

All proposals must be submitted online at www.actfl.org by 11:59 pm EST on Friday, January 13, 2017 in the correct format. Confirmation of receipt will be emailed within 24 hours of submission. All proposals for consideration must be submitted online and none will be accepted after the deadline date. A notice of acceptance will be emailed to presenters by the end of April 2017. 

In addition to ACTFL’s Submission Guidelines and Presenter Responsibilities, please read carefully the following requirements from CLASS.

Membership: If your submission is selected for presentation at CLASS-sponsored sessions at the 2017 ACTFL Convention, you must be a current member of CLASS through December 31, 2017, or ACTFL through November 30, 2017.

CLASS members are strongly encouraged to submit proposals. You may consider sending your name and co-presenters' name(s) to classmembership@gmail.com after submitting your proposal at the ACTFL website to expedite the process of membership verification.

Audience Level: Please check off one of the following boxes (o PreK-Grade 8, oGrade PreK-Grade 12, or oGrades 6-12) under the “Audience Level” to ensure that the CLASS ACTFL Program Committee reviews your proposal.

Presenter Responsibilities: Each CLASS-sponsored session presenter is required to submit PDF version of presentation materials to CLASS. It will allow CLASS members access to the presentation materials on the CLASS website immediately after the ACTFL Convention.
