CLASS National Junior Scholars for Excellence in Chinese

The purpose of the Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools (CLASS) National Junior Scholars for Excellence in Chinese is to recognize and acknowledge students’ achievement in learning Chinese language and culture.  We strongly encourage students to become life-long learners in order to gain a better understanding of Chinese language and culture.

  • This recognition allows middle/junior high school (grades 5-8) teachers to recognize student’s achievement in the study of Chinese language and culture.
  • This recognition can be bestowed annually. 
  • The student will receive a certificate acknowledging his/her achievement in the learning of Chinese language and culture.

  • Registration fee for the certificate is $4 for each student.  After filling out the Google form, please send your check to:

    *** Please note the following:
    1. Make your check Payable to: Chinese Language Association of Secondary-Elementary Schools
    2. When you mail the check to us, please include (1) your CLASS membership information (your name, membership ID number, school, email, and phone number), along with (2) quantity of the certificate, and (3) shipping address.
    3. Please allow at least FOUR WEEKS for processing.

Criteria:

  1. Nominating teacher has to be a current member of CLASS.
  2. Student must have demonstrated excellence in Chinese language study.
    Minimum requirements: Students must have an average of B or equivalent in Chinese class. Local chapter sponsors have the rights to raise the minimum criteria.
  3. Student must have demonstrated commitment to Chinese language and culture study by participating in academic and extracurricular activities in his or her second year of learning Chinese language and culture.
