We will explore the root cause of this, which lies in the imbalance between designing language-learning and language-using activities. Michelle Wei-Cheng (魏以娴) is a Mandarin Chinese teacher and the World Language Curriculum and Assessment Leader (Depart Chair) at IMSA since 2007. She has taught all levels of Mandarin at IMSA and conducts independent studies with seniors. She emphasizes immersion in her teaching.
